Touch/Face ID, is a built-in biometric authenticator that uses sensors embedded in the finger pad to verify your identity.

> ℹ️ In order to use Touch ID on Mac, make sure you have the following:
> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ - A MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, or Magic Keyboard with a Touch ID button.
> ℹ️ - A fingerprint enrolled in Touch ID ([see how to do this at the Apple Support site](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207054)).

### First Time Enrollment for Touch ID on Mac

1. Launch Chrome or Safari (REQUIRED) and log in to the [My Cal Poly](https://myportal.calpoly.edu/) portal.
2. You will be prompted to authenticate with a currently enrolled device. Choose your preferred method and complete the verification process on your current device.
  
3. Click **Add a device.**
  
4. Click **Touch ID**.
  
5. Click **Continue** to the Touch ID pop-up from your operating system.
  
6. Tap or touch your computer's built-in biometric authenticator or security key to verify your identity.
  
7. Allow [duosecurity.com](http://duosecurity.com/) to connect to Touch ID by clicking the **Allow** button.
8. Touch ID is now added to your Duo account.

### Use Touch ID

1. Log in to the [My Cal Poly](https://myportal.calpoly.edu/) portal.
2. When you are prompted to authenticate, select **Touch ID**. You might have to click on **Other options** first to see the screen with the Touch ID option.
  

3. Tap or touch your computer's built-in biometric authenticator or security key to verify your identity.
4. Once your identity is verified, your Cal PoTly account will be authenticated.

*If you’ve already set up Face/Touch ID as your first form of authentication, here’s how you can change that: 

1. Log in to **My Cal Poly Portal **using the device that you set up with Face/Touch ID.
2. Click the **Personal Info** tab.
3. Under the **Authorized Devices** tab, click **Multi-factor Authentication**.
