Learn how to purchase software at Cal Poly. Any new software must go through an [ICT Review Process](https://security.calpoly.edu/content/standards/ICT/process) and [procurement](https://afd.calpoly.edu/procure-to-pay/how-to-buy/technology/).  


1. Check the available [Academic Use Software](https://calpoly.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CPKB/pages/2425443) to see if Cal Poly already has software to suit your needs.
2. Get a quote from the vendor and purchase approval from your department.
3. Submit an [ICT Review Form](http://surveys.calpoly.edu/s3/ICT).
4. Once the ICT is approved, complete [procurement](https://afd.calpoly.edu/procure-to-pay/how-to-buy/technology/).
5. Submit a [General Help](https://calpoly.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/group/8/create/30) request with the licensing terms and the license key to install the software on your device.
