> ⚠️ - If your device was NOT purchased from an approved vendor, please return it and re-purchase it from an approved vendor, or;
> ⚠️ - You may submit a [Computer Consultation Request](https://calpoly.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/group/8/create/103) for the device to be manually enrolled by ITS Client Services.

## **Follow the steps listed below to complete your device setup/enrollment:**

1. **Power on the device** and **follow the on-screen instructions** to begin.
2. *Language:* Select **English**.
3. *Country:* Select **United States**.
4. Select your preference for text and icon **Appearance**.
5. Tap **Continue**.
6. Tap **Set Up without Another Device**.

7. *Connect to Wi-Fi network:* Select **eduroam** and log in with your Cal Poly username and password. Include *@calpoly.edu* in the username.
8. When prompted, select **Trust** for the Cal Poly certificate *(required for eduroam connection*)

> ℹ️ **NOTE:** This process can be completed on any network; eduroam is NOT required.

9. Once connected to the internet, the device will activate.

10. *Transfer Your Apps & Data:* Select **Don’t Transfer Anything**.
11. *Device Management:* Select **Enroll this iPad**.

12. Enter your Cal Poly username and password and select **Next**.

13. *Create a Passcode:* select Passcode Options, then choose **Custom Alphanumeric Code**, and enter/confirm your Passcode.
14. *Apple Account:* Skip setup at this time by selecting **Forgot password or don't have an account?**
  
15. *Apple Account:* Select **Set Up Later in Settings, **then confirm** Don’t Use**.
  
  
16. *Update Your iPad Automatically:* Tap **Continue**
17. *Location Services:* Select **Turn On Location Services**.
  
18. *Light or Dark Display:* **Choose your preference** (Light, Auto, or Dark)
19. *Multitasking & Windowing:* **Choose your preference**
20. Setup is **Complete!**
