Alison Robinson

Alison Robinson is the Interim Vice President and Chief Information Officer at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She directs daily operations for Information Technology Services (ITS) and leads the division’s effort to develop a top-tier technology service delivery model for Cal Poly. Robinson’s extensive technical background and in-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services are crucial to the university’s cloud transformation endeavors.

Robinson earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee, as well as both a post-baccalaureate teaching certificate and Master’s Degree in Computer Science Education from Cardinal Stritch University. She brings more than 20 years of higher education, information technology and leadership expertise to Cal Poly, including five years as Associate Vice President and Deputy Chief Information Officer for the University of Maryland, College Park. Prior to joining the University of Maryland, Robinson served as Director of Application Services at the University of South Florida, where she led the application development group that managed the university’s enterprise systems. She has also served as the Director of Information Technology at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee, supporting the academic and technical missions of the College of Education, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, and the College of Health Sciences. In her spare time, Robinson enjoys running, as well as hiking with her husband and two dogs.
