Brett Holman

Brett Holman is the Senior Financial Officer for Information Technology Services. His main focus is making sure that ITS makes the best possible use of its financial resources, as well as developing financial planning for new endeavors that will allow ITS to contribute to university academics and operations well into the future. Since starting at ITS in 2016, Brett has worked to advance ITS from a cost center model to a university cost contribution model.

Holman is a Cal Poly alum, who graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, and then went on to earn his CPA license.  He previously worked as a manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Southern California. He then moved back to San Luis Obispo and after taking a position in the Administration and Finance Department (AFD) at Cal Poly, he progressed to the position of University Controller.  These experiences have opened up many doors for him, including his position with ITS, which has given him the opportunity to explore the worlds of both IT and finance at the university and to find new ways to develop creative applications for his work that directly contribute to the mission of the university. In his free time, Brett loves to travel, and is an avid tennis fan as he has attended three of the four worldwide Grand Slam tournaments.
